Shenzhen is a city in South-eastern China, located directly across from Hong Kong, lively and bustling. In 1980, Shenzhen became a special economic zone, allowing foreign companies to invest in the area around it. Since then, Shenzhen has catapulted into being the 6th largest city in China, from 300k people to over 14 million. There's a lot of things to learn about a city that large, but unfortunately there aren't that many sources that give a real on-the-ground look at Shenzhen. The Shenzhen Odyssey Project wants to fix that, with a series of videos exploring everywhere from the tiniest hole-in-the-wall restaurants to the giant attractions such as the Window of the World — it'll all be explored, explained, and revealed here.
